A Question?

Am I the only one that absolutely hates it when in these kinds of series whenever a giant leap in time happens. Like oh 50 years passed in a single chapter. And whenever a series is getting close to the end it gets even worse because thousands of years will start passing every couple of chapters.

For me it makes your MC seem less unique less special. I know in all of these series the other characters are like “Wow you only needed a thousand years to reach this level.”

But to me saying that is meaningless, because I’m not an immortal, so thousands of years is an incredibly long period of time.

It’s just something that always really bugs me about these series, and I’m just wondering if I’m in the minority in feeling that way. And I very much hope it doesn’t happen in ATG. Mars could have easily done that after YC won the tournament, but he made a clear creative choice not to do it.

doesn’t seem like there’s gonna be a time skip

True, but I don’t think that’s the case with ATG.

It’s a question I was asking in general about these kinds of series, not ATG specifically.

Like right now I’m also reading Martial World, and it’s skipping time like crazy. And I’ve noticed it in other series I’ve read.

In the end of MW Lin ming went into a ridiculous seclusion of 12000+ years…It was so stupid wierd…and Meng Hao from ISTTh went into an even more ridiculous state…in the end of ISSTH MC meets second FMC after a billion years…how fucked up is that…& He was still a virgin after billion years😂

#6

Yes, that is very bad, read Martial for Asura, there time does not pass even after 4000 chapters.

Absolutely! Your spot on. I hate when there is time skips of huge time. I also hate when the average age of powerfully experts gets into the thousands of tens of thousands. To survive that long in such a cruel world you have to be soo smart it’s ridiculous. Yet till this day I have not seen an author who writes a thousand year old man exactly how a thousand year old man would act. But given that we don’t have that knowledge it’s best to fill the gaps. BUT that doesn’t.mean an ancient old man will pick on youngsters for no reason

I don’t generally hate time skip in some novel but I don’t want time skip in ATG as there are many plot hole in time skip

What I usually feels like to me in most cases is the Author is getting burnt out on the series, so they don’t have the energy to try and come up with legitimate reason on why the MC keeps progressing at a very fast pace, so they just say “Time Skip” problem solved.

Your point is since you are not an immortal, you can’t adjust to a long period of time skip?.. then you are also not a cultivator… How can you even read cultivation novel?

It would be dumb if a twenty year old mc is stronger than everyone considering the other people cultivated for a trillion years. Plus after a 200 years there is no difference to me since I won’t live that long and cant imagine the mentality of someone that old.

Then can you kindly explain “what was being said in this thread”?

bom torna-se mais realista ter saltos de vários anos treinando , pelo menos o personagem principal envelhece coisa que em ATG quase nunca acontece a historia vai acabar e ele não vai ter chegado nos 30 anos acho isso horrível

#15

you have to take into account that most of the time Mcs have some form of cheating (a heavenly treasure, a special physique, a magical lineage) …

#16

Only 12000+ years? MC from Perfect World went into seclusion for like 400k+ years.

#17

skipping time is good if you can make it good. Otherwise its just rushing because you have no idea how to handle your own story. If you ever read coiling dragon or ISSTH then you will see what time skip is. Honestly, i piss on Chinese theory of immortality or living thousands of years when you can do just as much in 100 years.

The reason why is because the MC is supposed to be special, unique. That he is like one in a trillion person that transcends anyone’s understanding.

That’s all the validation you need, you don’t need to skip Thousands of years to make it legitimate, because they never do it in the beginning anyways, but still they usually manage to conquer their original world in a couple of decades, while there are people who’ve been alive Tens of Thousands of years, it’s perfectly OK and believable then. So why do they need to do it towards the end?

Only 400k + years? Qin Yu of Stellar Transformation was in seclusion for more than 30 million years.

Absolutely. It sucks because we really don’t know how to react on 100 years later. There ain’t no human alive who can afford to skip 100 years and not be depressed bout it
