I’m only on chapter 31, but it feels like the character is already failing my expectations. At first she seemed like a strong woman who would do anything for her child. I was hoping she would be more like Ning Xi from «Full marks hidden marriage,» or Tang Siyu from «The untouchable president.» Strong on both the inside and outside with consisted logic. But now she seems more like Daisy Ouyang from «My wife is an aloof beauty.» Who even after getting hurt like that still has feelings for him. Strong on the outside weak on the inside.
Besides I don’t like her logic. «He is my son and my son alone,» that to me is so selfish. I don’t care how badly she got hurt especially when it comes to children! I haven’t read so much yet, but I really hate novels where the mother feels she has the right to not tell the father of the childs existence. It just feels completely wrong!
My wish is that it turns similar to «The untouchable president.» Tang Siyu didn’t forgive Xing Leihan easily. She put her hatefull and selfish feelings aside for jeg son. Although not from the start she understood that her son had the right to know his father without her intervention. That still didn’t mean that she forgave him for being an A-hole or didn’t watch out for red flags. It only ment she had to learn to interact with him for the sake of her son. It just feels so morally wrong to keep someone in the dark about something like this.
If he doesn’t know within 100 chapters, I don’t think this is the novel for me.
