Almost all novels written in Asian languages will appear with incorrect pronouns as they do not have words to distinguish genders. It is not the fault of the story, rather that it is machine translated so either gender is therefore considered acceptable. If you read any mtl novels, then you get used to this to the point where it is not usually noticed by your consciousness. I have no problem correcting the gender pronoun in my head when reading.
