I don’t mind the slow romance, I don’t mind the slow characters, I don’t mind the abusive aunt , hen pecked husband or the white lotuses in this story. What I do mind is the author dancing in circles around every plot point. There was a single chapter where they talked about the thoughts in people’s heads during a stare down. That’s a bit much, and it only gets worse as the story progresses. I don’t know if I can take much more, even if it’s free.
