Usually CN covers historical feudal china so it’s interesting to read a story with detail of lifestyle in China at that period of time (80’s). . Prior to to the internet and social media, people outside of China don’t know much about how things work after the Communist took over. It’s quite novel for me to read this “slice of life” and understand a little bit more about Chinese people, the economic context and the cultural shift. I realized that this is not 100% historically accurate, more romanticized but it nonetheless a cultural discovery.
