Either it’s total control and she can never defy him it just doesn’t shackle her mind to make her an obedient, subservient robot or she breaks free of his control eventually and probably becomes an antagonist again, in which case she isn’t being redeemed. So congrats, you get what you want. The reason she isn’t being placed under a slave seal specifically is because Chinese readers complained about her personality, as far as I can tell.
